Who is Orascom Development Egypt?
Orascom Development Egypt (ODE) develops integrated cities and destinations and is listed on the Egyptian Exchange within the Orascom Development Holding group. The company works in housing, hotels, utilities, retail and leisure inside large destinations.
It must be kept separate from Orascom Construction, a different contracting and engineering company; from Orascom Investment Holding, a different investment entity; and from Orascom Hotels Management, the hotel operating arm within the structure.
The ODE website announced the appointment of Dr Eskandar Tooma as Chairman in 2025, while Omar El Hamamsy appears as CEO of Orascom Development Holding and Mohamed Amer appears as CEO of El Gouna and an executive board member and Managing Director for commercial activities at ODE.

El Gouna — the Red Sea
An integrated town with districts, hotels, a marina and utilities. It includes phases and neighbourhoods such as Ancient Sands, Fanadir Bay, Kamaran, Shedwan, North Bay, Cyan and Fairways. These are phases inside the El Gouna destination, not independent development companies.
O West — Sixth of October
A West Cairo town with districts and phases such as Core, O Views, Green Valley, Club Residence, Parkside and Fera Residences. Every phase links back to O West as the parent entity.
Makadi Heights — the Red Sea
An integrated destination near Hurghada with phases such as Ledge, Aden and DUA. It should not be confused with Makadina, which belongs to Travco Properties.
Taba Heights — South Sinai
An integrated tourism destination in Taba. It needs a standalone area page rather than being forced under “Hurghada and the Red Sea”.
Byoum — Fayoum
A destination in Fayoum that differs fundamentally from the coastal product in El Gouna and Makadi, and deserves a link to the Fayoum governorate page.
